Getting to Tawhai Falls (Gollum's Pool)

The carpark is located on SH48, approximately 4 km from the Tongariro National Park Visitor Centre. Just on the left-hand side, as you head towards the Base of Whakapapa Ski Field, you will see a sign from the Taupo to National Park road.

The walk to the falls is straightforward and takes about 10 minutes. Just watch out for the slippery rocks!
