Brown Bear Ski & Snowboard Area Guide has rated Manganui as family-friendly and outstanding steep runs for skiers and snowboarders. The Lower Mountain is an alpine tussock meadow (mowed), so it only needs 20-30cm of snow cover to operate. Their snow can come and go during the season, so they can’t guarantee consistent operation.
The Ski Area is about 20 minutes from Stratford, and driving from Wellington takes about 2.5 hours. If you’re flying into New Zealand, New Plymouth and Palmerston North are the closest airports.
Travelling is an amazing way to expand your horizons. Each journey brings something unique, offering lessons that help you grow, adapt, and appreciate the world from different perspectives.
