They also have a learners’ rope tow which provides dedicated learners or those keen to explore off-piste terrain!

Getting to Mt Cheeseman Skifield. Located 90 minutes’ drive from Christchurch on State Highway 73, with a safe and well-maintained access road that allows you to go right to the T-bar lifts. The two T-bar lifts provide access to the mountain with a learners’ rope tow in our dedicated learners’ area. The mountain offers sunny, groomed runs and off-piste terrain to suit all abilities.
The Ski Club is a family-oriented ski club catering to all ages and abilities. They are a welcoming group of people who love everything snow and alpine – skiing, boarding, tobogganing, ice skating, hiking and having fun in the mountains with great mates and family. They were founded in 1929 by Allen Giles and Bill Day.
The road is maintained and kept in good condition; however, being an alpine environment, it could snow, and road conditions can change throughout the day.
