Cardrona's new T-Bar nears completion ahead of winter 2025
Cardrona Alpine Resort is nearing completion of a new T-bar, with construction milestones progressing steadily in preparation for the winter season. One of the most noticeable changes is the raised unload platform – now five metres higher -which will improve skier movement across the upper mountain. The higher platform will make it easier to reach Campbell’s Trail, Little Bucks Park, McDougall’s, the border cross course, and the terrain park.
A new top bull wheel has been installed, and the tunnel section is now complete. The redesigned run features a smooth banked turn leading directly into the tunnel. The earthworks have been carried out by Trail Works, who used a 3D model to guide the project. This allowed for precise shaping of the terrain and careful replanting of native tussocks.
New T-bar for Faster Runs
Cardrona Alpine Resort, Wanaka, is installing a new T-bar for the 2025 season. This will mean faster runs for everyone visiting Big Bucks, Little Bucks, Antlers Alley race course, and the Border Cross.
The T-bar is being installed in Cardrona’s Main Basin between the existing McDougall’s and Whitestar chairlifts. The new T-bar will mean less pressure on the White Star lift, which means quicker laps.
