SailGP 2026 venues announced: The biggest season yet
SailGP has just dropped its first peek at the 2026 season – and it’s shaping up to be a stunner. Fan-favourite venues are back, new ones are locked in making it bigger than ever.
The Rolex SailGP Championship will be making waves in Perth, Sydney, Rio de Janeiro, Bermuda, New York, Halifax, Portsmouth, Saint-Tropez, and Dubai – before closing with a high-stakes Grand Final in Abu Dhabi. More cities and exact dates will follow, but the early schedule alone has five continents in play. From Australia to the Middle East.
SailGP CEO Sir Russell Coutts put it simply: “We’ve had unprecedented interest from cities around the world, and SailGP is excited to release a first preview of what fans can expect from the 2026 Season. That includes world-class racing in some of the most iconic stadium destinations we’ve visited to date, and extending our presence in Australia with a first-time event in Perth.”
The 2026 season kicks off in January in Australia and runs right through to November. It’ll hit North and South America with stops in New York, Halifax, and Rio de Janeiro, before crossing into a European summer with confirmed returns to Portsmouth and Saint-Tropez.
This year’s season (2025) already saw the biggest fleet to date with 12 national teams on the startline – including new arrivals Mubadala Brazil SailGP Team and Red Bull Italy SailGP Team. Looking ahead, SailGP has confirmed plans to add two more teams in 2026, marking another step forward in what’s become one of sport’s fastest-growing global leagues.
